There’s only one vital ingredient to getting married, and that’s a marriage celebrant! I mean, we all love the party that goes along with most weddings, but in order to be legally married, you need a registered marriage celebrant to conduct your ceremony.
That’s where I come in.
As a registered independent marriage and civil union celebrant, I work with you to make your ceremony personal and unique. I want to get to know you as a couple, I want to hear your story and I want to learn all about your quirks and what makes you work. I strongly believe in marriage equality and that you are free to form a family with whomever you choose. Love is love.

WHY ME?
Celebrants are the people who conduct your ceremony … we’re the ones who make magic happen. There are a lot of celebrants in New Zealand … around 2500 in fact. So what makes me different?
I could tell you about how you’ll get a meeting with me, and the resources I’ll offer you, and how I’ll work with you to collaborate, but I won’t, because to me that should be a given. If you’re talking to a celebrant and they’re not offering you that, they’re not doing the best job they could. Because all of that should be the bare minimum.
You want me because weddings are my thing, they're my profession and my business, not just a side hobby.
I have been in this industry for over six years now, not just as a celebrant but also as a wedding planner. Do you have to hire me to plan your wedding too? Nope. Absolutely not. But you do, by default, get all that knowledge and experience when it comes to your big day. I don’t do funerals, or naming ceremonies, or housewarmings or any other kind of celebrant related activity. Just weddings. They’re my jam and I love them.
You get a professional. Someone who knows their shit.
I’m flexible and adaptable and firmly believe in making the day about the two of you.
Of course I’ll custom write you a ceremony that’s just right for the two of you.
Not into romance and hearts and soppy details? Cool, we’ll flag that part.
Want something relaxed, light-hearted and with a few laughs? I can make that happen.
Want that perfect blend of tradition and modern-day fun? Can do.
Basically, if you want it, I can help make it happen.
Your ceremony shouldn’t just be about making it legal. Sure I can do a super short ceremony that just covers the basics, but I’ll be honest, they’re not my fave. I prefer putting together something that feels like the two of you. If you’re not a fan of public speaking, I can work with that to make sure you say as little as possible. Want to shout from the rooftops how in love you are? Done deal. Let’s work together to create some magic and make your day stress free, fun, relaxed and true to you.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
So how much does this all cost you? $750 if you’re getting married in Hamilton. Further away? That’s all good, there’ll just be some travel charges (see below).
I'm going to guess and say that's still one of the cheapest parts of your wedding day (but definitely not a budget service!) It's likely less than your venue, your catering, your band or DJ and probably your florist. I'd like to think it's one of the most important though ... because without me, you're just having an expensive party.
